St Leonard’s College hosts a series of insightful parent seminars throughout each calendar year, serving as invaluable platforms for parents to deepen their understanding of various aspects of education and child development.

The current landscape for children and youth has never been more complex. Many of the issues affecting the wellbeing of youth are significantly different to when parents were at school themselves, and for most adults, the generation gap feels enormous. To this end, a supportive relationship between school and home is integral to a well-rounded student.

The College¡¯s parent program aims to provide education to our parent community about common topics pertinent to youth. It is an annual series of seminars and workshops, which cover a diverse range of topics including mental health, academic strategies, technology management and effective parenting techniques.

Expert speakers, including educators, psychologists, and other professionals, share their knowledge and expertise to provide parents with practical tools and strategies to support their children¡¯s growth and development.

The seminars not only offer valuable information but also foster a sense of community among parents. They provide opportunities for parents to connect, share experiences, and build relationships with one another. Through discussions and Q&A sessions, parents can exchange ideas, seek advice, and learn from each other¡¯s experiences, creating a supportive network within the College community.

The College also provides a range of online resources to parents, accessible through our parent portal. These resources provide an ongoing opportunity for parents to develop their understanding of topics relevant to youth, and feel supported in their parenting journey across the College.

St Leonard¡¯s recognises the crucial role that parents play in their children¡¯s educational journey, ultimately contributing to the overall success and wellbeing of our students.
